- Mr. L. R. Motyer
The death took place in the King Edward Memorial Hospital yesterday of Mr. Leonce Reginald Motyer. He was 64.
A member of an old Bermuda family, Mr. Motyer was a civil servant in the Colony for many years. His first position was with the Board of Works, under the Colonial Surveyor.
He then went on to the serving department of the postal service, where he remained until his retirement about four years ago.
Keenly interested in all athletics and a firm believer in the welfare of youth, Mr. Motyer was one of the founder members of the Bermuda Athletic Association.
An ardent worker for the Methodist Church, he was also interested in may charitable causes in Bermuda.
Mr. Motyer leaves a widow, two sons and three daughters. The funeral service will be held this afternoon at the Wesley Methodist Church and will be followed by interment at the Methodist Cemetery, Pembroke.
